Hi I am Dan and I will be editing our four minute film with Rich and Alex, in our previous projects I was the director.
Films and other texts that have inspired me are as followed;
Terry Tate Office Linebacker because of the fast paced cuts within the short film giving the normal basics of a film in the way that different area's and characters in the film can be put together in making a film without special editing and effects.
A completely different type of editing which has more of a high-tech editing requirement are montages, Montages use alot of editing to keep the audience interested in their short clips put together, this montage chosen is done by an expensive editing software. Within the montage "Like Butter" Uses different effects in his montage for example Speeding up and Slowing down footage, as well as changing the colour in the footage.
I am interested in the editing in this because of the amount of transitions within the montage that you would think it wouldn't fit, that it would just be clip then transition with another clip after but it all flows into each other and fits so well that you don't pay much attention to the transitions they are just natural in the montage.
Television shows such as 24 use editing very well, for example in this trailer of 24 it contains simple cuts as well as more high-tech transitions, I really like the way that the on screen text comes from within the footage and fits very well, the footage has fast paced cuts from clip to clip creating audience interest.
Music video's also interest me in editing, I like this music video because it has been done really we'll within the mise-en-scene as well as editing for example Mc Lars changed cloth's when he raps about different games also he has duplicated himself at least three times in a frame which is what we are planning on doing in our short film.
Also in his music video Mc Lars uses unrealistic editing in it for example childish blood coming out of the patient.
